Anniversary List

Sunday was the 2 month anniversary of me returning from Chile. I can't believe it! In some ways it feels like yesterday and in other ways it feels like I never went. I figured a list would be appropriate to celebrate the occasion. So here is a list of things that are still novel to me...aka things that I still appreciate about being home:

1. Putting toilet paper in the toilet
2. Not having to pay for public restrooms
3. Having a straightener that warms up enough for me to actually straighten my hair
4. Knowing so many people that own cars
5. Indoor heating
6. Drinking water with my meals
7. Understanding EVERYTHING that people say to me
8. Making my own bed
9. Not being told to constantly wear socks, scarves, sweaters and hats
10. The size of paper (in Chile all my school papers were 8 1/2 by 13 or something odd like that...it got really annoying because it wouldn't fit in my binder)
11. Starting class with a prayer
12. Listening to the Sacrament Prayer in English
13. Not having anyone cross themselves when passing a church...I miss it! (my 2nd host mom was a devout Catholic)
14. Not having people catcall or whistle
15. Eating whatever I want whenever I want
16. Using Skype to talk to the family
17. Not having neighbors that blast reggaeton until 6am
18. NO STRAY DOGS!
19. No public transportation (not that I really need that in Rexburg, but still)
20. Not having to put my clothes on a clothes line to dry!

So those are just a few things. Chile changed my life and I'm so very grateful I was able to go live there. I will never ever forget it.
