I limped home, went up to my room to look up the verb "to bite", and then went downstairs to tell my host mom what had happened. She took me to urgent care. The hospital was very nice (I felt like I was in the States!!). We literally only had to wait 10 minutes and then I was in a room. I only freaked out a little when I walked into a white-washed walled room with a creepy looking surgery bed-thing.
The nurse cleaned my wound with alcohol-ish stuff (I'm guessing). Then they gave me a shot in my arm. I have a phobia of needles for sure, so I was quite proud of my courage when it came to the vaccination.
Oh, and another detail to the story: the dog had a collar on. So it belongs to some one in the neighborhood. That's one thing I hate about Chile. Not only are there billions of stray dogs, but everyone let's their house dogs run wild. And EVERYONE has dogs. Sooooo, needless to say there are dogs everywhere.
Moral of the story: Some one needs to invent some sort of unfragant chemical to spray in the air that will wipe out the dog population but is harmless to everything/everyone else.
I was once bitten (it barely left a mark) by a little yapper dog....it hurt! I can't even imagine how that must have felt. I bet you wanted to chase it down and kick it!
ReplyDeleteWhat!!! I leave five days only to return and find out that you were attacked! Are you okay!?!
