Today's headlines made me wonder if newspaper writers ever tell each other what their article is about. The front page had two very conflicting statements. In big bold letters at the top it said, "Oregon not college-ready". Doom, gloom, low test scores and children getting left behind. And then the less bold, but still prominent title below said, "School pride on a higher level". Happy, frolicking students with high test scores and a bright future. My dad calls the Oregonian the daily fish-wrapper. "And our neighbors need it a LOT more than we do!" That is a very hilarious statement when you know our neighbors: the dad is a fisherman.
*Disclaimer: I read neither of the articles.
