Coming to Vegas

I couldn't figure out how to invert the order of the pictures, so we'll start with the strip and go back in time to the road trip to get to Vegas.

This is (obviously) the Paris. We had an incredible time eating at a buffet here. In Jason's words, "I didn't know food could be such a spiritual experience." Yeah. It was that good.

In honor of Celeste and Ben recently moving from New York! Her comment was, "Too bad it's not warm enough in NY for palm tress."

I have yet to visit here, but all's I gotta say is...I hope they have samples. Lots of samples.

I've come to the conclusion that palm trees do not grow on their own here. They must be planted and tended. The only ones around always seem to be on the strip in a straight line, or in a rich person's yard.

The view from our room at the WorldMark resort.

We finally reached the turn off after hours and hours of desolation.

Good bye Portland pine tress. Hello Nevada Joshua "trees".

There were so many it was almost creepy.

One cannot capture the incredible packing job through photography.

On the way down to Jason and Lindsay's, we stayed in Ashland, OR. It's where they have the Shakespeare festival each year. The little town has a nice medieval type feel to it.
