San Pedro: Part I
I spent the last week in San Pedro de Atacama. It is in northern Chile, the heart of the driest desert on the planet. (That explains the whole not-posting-in-a-week thing.) It was incredibly amazing!!!
The driest desert in the world. Just ask my skin.
I kid you not: I got to see Incan ruins!!! This was a short bike ride away from where I was staying in San Pedro.
I'm on the top of the world!
The ruins were amazing. I couldn't believe the organization of the even just the stones on the ground.
We hiked through canyons. The sky and clouds contrasting the rocks was stunningly beautiful.
There were random rock formations like this everywhere. When I saw this one I said, "Hey, it kinda looks like a crop circle." To which Holli replied, "It's not a crop circle...it's a rock circle!" Haha, I laughed pretty hard.
We kept biking after exploring the war refuge ruins and found this face carved in the rocks. How cool is that?!!!?!
One of my favorite parts of the trip was meeting Russell (the guy in the picture). He was staying in the same hostel as us. He is from New Zealand and thus has the coolest accent ever. The three of us went biking through the desert together and also star gazing at night. Let me just say, star gazing in the heart of the middle of nowhere is absolutely breathtaking.

WOW! First of all, gotta say happy you're back safe. Second, that carved out face is super cool! I wonder how old it is! And BTW, I think if I was there I would have gotten heatstroke. Kudos to you for making it!
