John-Miguel and I at 4:00 AM on our way to some stellar geysers and canyons. In the desert nighttime is quite cold and days are very hot. Well, 4 AM is still nighttime. Thus the hats and warm attire. But it was totally worth it. (Pictures of the geysers at a later time.)

We visited a tiny village founded in the year 500. They are called the Machuca people.

They must be pretty short because the roof of the house was about my height!

Even though it's a tiny village, they still have their own church (which was closed and we didn't get to go in).

Here in the Machuca village, they were selling shishkabobs of llama. Yes, that's right. This photo is me chewing my piece of llama meat. It was SO tasty!!

Carlos and John-Miguel about to try their llama shishkabob.

Oasis! A lake in the middle of the desert.

The beauty of the sunset could not be captured on a camera. But I tried anyway.
